Woodstock location.
Dr. Raj is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology. Prior to relocating to Georgia, he spent close to four years at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville practicing rheumatology in a busy outpatient clinic in addition to providing inpatient consultative services. He was also a clinical associate professor at the Graduate School of Medicine.
Originally from South Florida, Dr. Raj obtained his undergraduate degree in Economics at New York University and his medical degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. He completed his internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Fl, and his rheumatology fellowship at Nova Southeastern University/Larkin Hospital. His interest in rheumatology was sparked during medical residency, where he observed how autoimmune disorders affected seemingly healthy individuals, through no fault of their own. He wanted to pursue a medical specialty where he could help such patients.
He enjoys treating all aspects of rheumatology, and has special interest in rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthritis, vasculitis, lupus, sarcoidosis, gout, and osteoporosis. He is well published in peer reviewed journals and is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, playing tennis, swimming, and trying new and unique restaurants.
