Hema Kondakindi, MD

Dr. Hema Kondakindi is a rheumatologist who is passionate about delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals living with rheumatic and autoimmune diseases. She combines evidence-based medicine with shared decision-making, taking the time to explain diagnoses and treatment options so that patients can actively participate in decisions about their health.

Dr. Kondakindi earned her medical degree from Deccan College of Medical Sciences in India and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Osmania Medical College in India before continuing her medical training in the United States. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Texas Tech University in Odessa, Texas. She subsequently completed her fellowship training in rheumatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, where she had the privilege of serving as Chief Fellow.

Her clinical interests include the diagnosis and management of rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, systemic sclerosis, and rheumatic diseases during pregnancy. She also has a special interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound and joint injections, incorporating these tools when they can help provide a more precise diagnosis or effective treatment.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Kondakindi enjoys spending time with her family, staying fit, gardening, and traveling.
